LEADERSHIP TEAM

  • All children are a blessing. I've enjoyed watching children grow and thrive across all ability levels throughout my career. I've served children and their families as both a special education teacher and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Teaching classes at the University of Washington and Seattle University allowed me to reach more children by coaching early career educators. Most recently, I experienced the miracle of becoming part of a family with four incredible children when I married my husband, Christopher Flick.

At Orchid, we always focus on the whole family as part of our mission but becoming a mom filled me with renewed energy. I am committed to helping families, including siblings, work together to improve the quality of their family life by sharing our toolbox with you.

I always knew it was challenging when a parent was afraid to take their child to the grocery store because he was a flight risk. I remember taking a client on his first trip and watching the relief on his mom's face when she knew this was the beginning of many more successful adventures. As a mom now, I have a deeper understanding of how important being able to take a child to the grocery store is to a family. It's driven me to design innovative systems, and procedures that allow us to train employees better to ensure faster, lasting results. At Orchid we will help your child (and family) grow quickly, sustainably and lovingly. With us, you don't have to worry anymore.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

  • I firmly believe in the transformative power of healing and growth, at any age. My life is deeply influenced by meditation, self-awareness practices, and transpersonal psychology; they serve as my personal compass and shape my leadership style. Guided by the mantra, "Leave it better than you found it," I imbue this principle into every interaction and decision I make. Nothing thrills me more than mentoring others on their journey towards success and wholeness.

With two decades of experience in healthcare, I've had the privilege to serve in a variety of roles. Most recently, I had the opportunity to manage a three-location mental health practice where I led a team of thirty dedicated professionals. Central to my success in this role, and throughout my career, has been my ability to build and nurture quality relationships based on empathy and compassion. In addition to interpersonal skills, I excel at business operations, community building, and finance.

At Orchid, I leverage my leadership skills and deep-seated empathy to foster a culture of understanding and compassion for employees, students, and families. My commitment is to contribute to a nurturing, respectful, and supportive environment for all. Outside of work, you can find me with my golden retriever, Nala, exploring the PNW trails or training for an upcoming marathon.

CLINICAL DIRECTOR

  • I started working in special education in 2008 and quickly fell in love with watching children learn and realize their full potential. I've had the privilege of serving children K-12 and young adults in residential school and day school settings, and now the clinic setting at Orchid.

I received my Master's in Special Education- Severe Disabilities from Simmons College and my ABA Specialization from Western New England University (WNEU). I have been a BCBA since 2013. In 2019, I completed my doctorate in behavior analysis through WNEU. My area of focus was the assessment and treatment of behaviors of concern, specifically utilizing practical functional assessment (PFA) and skills-based treatment (SBT) to produce meaningful outcomes.

I am passionate about providing safe, compassionate, and individualized services to build skill repertoires that lead to meaningful changes for both the child and their family. I enjoy building capacity in others through training, and collaborating with service providers and parents to help children succeed.

OPERATIONS TEAM

  • Hello! I'm Hailey, a compassionate advocate dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others. With over five years of experience in medical billing, I specialize in bridging the gap between clients and insurance companies, ensuring families receive the support they need to navigate the complexities of healthcare.

As my hometown's favorite babysitter, I've had the joy of witnessing the unique thinking styles of children and helping them overcome challenges. I firmly believe that every child has the potential to make a difference in the world, and I'm passionate about nurturing their growth and development.

Growing up surrounded by various mental health disorders in my family, I developed a strong desire to contribute to the field of mental health. While my career initially led me to medical billing, my heart remains devoted to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.

In my role, I've helped countless families stay on track with their bills, facilitated communication with insurance providers, and assisted in drafting appeals for denied coverage. I understand the confusion and frustration that can arise when dealing with insurance, especially regarding mental health coverage, and I'm committed to advocating for clients' rights and access to necessary care.

SUPERVISOR TEAM

  • I have been working with children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental conditions since I graduated with a B.A. in Child Psychology in 2016. After witnessing how ABA intervention can make such a big difference in children’s lives, I decided to go back to school for my M.A. in Special Education with a focus on ABA. What I love most about working with kids is seeing them make progress and grow every day. When I am not working, I love hiking and exploring new coffee shops.

  • My name is Joana and I have 6 years of experience teaching children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Communication Science and Disorders in 2016, in hope of becoming a Speech Language Pathologist. Having recently graduated with my B.S, I applied for a job in Applied Behavior Analysis. Little did I know this initial introduction to ABA therapy took me down a different path in my career. I received my Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in ABA since 2020. Currently I am working towards getting my BCBA certification.

What I love about working in ABA is being able to witness positive gains when working with each child in their home and school setting. I enjoy coaching parents individually so their child can reach their greatest potential to have a better quality of life. With my clients, I hope to bring meaningful behavior change that are functional and important for the child to thrive by collaborating with other professionals. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, spending time with family, cooking, and making memories by visiting new places.

Throughout my career, I've worked with individuals ranging from 18 months to 18 years old in various settings, including homes, clinics, communities, and schools.
